New Moon in Uttara Bhadrapada
There will be a New Moon in Uttara Bhadrapada nakshatra on Tuesday March 21st at 10:22am pt. Uttara Bhadrapada is symbolized by a funeral cot or a funeral bed. It gives the realization that life is temporary. That realization is supposed to give us the inclination to move in the spiritual direction, so this New Moon, and the month following, is great for any type of spiritual practice and for self inquiry. The desire of Uttara Bhadrapada is to find a firm foundation in life, so this is also a good time for making efforts to stabilize your life in some way. Ultimately, the only thing that can give stability is the realization of pure consciousness, the transcendent being at the foundation of the mind. The shakti of Uttara Bhadrapada is the power to bring the rain. Oh please! Not more of that! I think I have had enough rain (and snow) for one winter. Metaphorically, however, this can just be a good time for emotional release and renewal. Yup, I'm going with that interpretation.
