Full Moon in Punarvasu

There will be a full moon in Punaravsu nakshatra Friday, January 6th at 3:09pm pt. Punarvasu's shakti is the power to create prosperity. Its name in Sanskrit means "good again, light again, prosperous again." That makes the period, surrounding the full moon, ripe for making improvements in your life. In mythology, when the demons had taken over heaven and the gods were in the underworld, Aditi, the mother of the gods, prayed to Vishnu to restore her children to their rightful place in heaven. In answer to that prayer, Aditi gave birth to Vamana, an incarnation of Vishnu. Although he was only two feet tall, he took three steps, kicked the demons out of heaven, and brought order and balance back to the universe. This is a time to align yourself with your highest good, and not be worried if your task looks daunting. Even small steps towards a purposeful goal can bring surprising results. Listen more and talk less. Don't make big claims or boast about what you intend to do. Just let your actions do the talking. That's food for thought as you begin the new year.
