There will be a new moon, in Jyestha nakshatra, on Tuesday, December 12th, at 3:32 p.m. PT. Jyestha is ruled by Indra, the king of the gods. Its shakti is the power to rise, overcome and conquer. Its basis above is to attack and its basis below is to defend. Its desire is to gain supremacy among the gods. In mythology, Indra once had a great battle with Vritra, the king of the demons. During the battle, Vritra swallowed Indra, along with his entire army. In his darkest hour, when all seemed lost, Indra drew his sword and cut his way out of the belly of the demon. For this reason, Jyestha symbolizes military leadership, battles, and even the idea of coming back from defeat. On the global level, it is hard to miss the emphasis on military symbology with this new moon, so there might be surges in various conflicts during the lunar month, especially during the period for one week one either side of December, 22nd.
