New Moon in Jyestha

There will be a New Moon December 6th at 11:20pm pst in Jyestha Nakshatra. New Moons begin a new cycle of karmic energy that ends on the next New Moon. This cycle's energy is derived from Jyeshta Nakshatra. Jyestha's shakti (power) is the power to rise, overcome, and conquer. It is a nakshatra related to leadership and business. For this reason the next month is an excellent one for taking the lead and getting things done, especially in business. This is also a time when you muster up your competitive energies.
On another level, this full moon is particularly special and positive since it takes place just after Mercury goes direct and when the Moon is in a conjunction with Jupiter. That means that the next month can help to produce more positive, upbeat communication and can be a great month for social events. Just in time for the holidays, the energy of this New Moon, can help to promote social gatherings and good cheer.
On the other hand, the deity that rules Jyeshtha is Indra, the king of the gods. In mythology, Indra was always drinking, soma, the nectar of the gods, so Jyeshtha, when out of balance, can sometimes be connected with inebriation. So enjoy the holidays, but if drinking is your style, take it easy with the eggnog!
