There will be a New Moon on April 22nd at 7:26pm pdt in Ashwini Nakshatra. A new moon is the beginning of a new lunar cycle, which averages out to about a month long (29.5 days). So the nakshatra in which the Moon is placed at that time, as well as what is happening with the rest of the planets, shows something about the trends and events that we all go through during that month. This time, the Moon is in Ashwini, the nakshatra of healing. That seems appropriate, since the world is locked down in quarantine at the moment. In mythology, the Ashwini Kumars, the deities that rule Ashwini Nakshatra, learned many ways to heal, including how to make people immortal! This new moon is involved in a combination called Shubha Kartari Yoga, a very positive combination, caused by being 'flanked' on one side by Venus and the other by Mercury. Mercury is in Revati, a nakshatra, which helps to improve the ongoing care for the sick, and Venus, in Taurus through July 31st, promotes and supports the ongoing development of cures. There are literally dozens of prospective medicines being studied and tested and some of them show great promise. Of course testing, approval, and delivery is another matter entirely, but at least the astrological factors for the next month will move us closer to an inevitable cure.
