Mars In Aries - A Return to Momentum and Action: May 11 - June 20, 2026
The April Slowdown: Mars Meets Saturn
For many people, April has felt like spinning their wheels—lots of effort, not much movement. Mars and Saturn have been in a conjunction, a combination that tends to produce delays, obstacles, pressure, and a fair amount of frustration. Mars wants to move fast and get things done, while Saturn insists on slowing everything down, checking the rules, and adding a few extra hoops to jump through. The intensity of this was especially strong leading up to April 19th, when the conjunction was exact. After that point, many people may have started to feel a bit of relief as the two planets began to separate—but they are still traveling together through early May, so that stop-and-go feeling hasn’t fully lifted just yet.
How this showed up, however, is different for everyone, depending on where this conjunction landed in your chart. For some, it might have felt like low energy, inflammation, or health-related concerns. For others, it may have brought delays, stress, and pressure in work or responsibilities. And for some, it might have shown up more in relationships—bringing frustration, irritability, or short tempers. In one way or another, though, it tends to create that same feeling of effort countered by resistance.
The Turning Point: Mars Enters Aries
The good news is that the energy begins to shift as we move into May. Mars will enter Aries on May 11 and remain there through June 20, 2026, marking a clear change in tone. After the slower, more restrictive feeling of April, this transit brings a noticeable return of momentum, energy, and forward movement. In Aries, Mars is in its own sign, where it operates at full strength—direct, decisive, and action-oriented. This amplifies a tone of confidence, boldness, and leadership, propelling a more active, driven, and results-oriented expression. As this energy comes online, there is a stronger impulse to take initiative, make decisions, and move things forward more quickly.
During this transit, progress tends to accelerate, and there is less patience for delays or hesitation. This can be an excellent time for starting new projects, taking the lead, and acting with clarity and purpose. At the same time, the increased intensity can sometimes lead to impatience or conflict if it’s not channeled constructively.
On the geopolitical level, this influence often corresponds with a more forceful and impulsive tone in world affairs. Leaders may be more inclined to act quickly, speak directly, and favor decisive action over extended negotiation. There is less patience for delay and more emphasis on strength and immediate results. In situations such as tensions involving Iran, this could increase the likelihood of escalation, stronger rhetoric, or actions that push events toward confrontation rather than resolution. The overall atmosphere is one of urgency and assertiveness, where the impulse is to act rather than to wait.
For the average person, however, this same energy can be used in a very constructive way. Mars in Aries is excellent for taking initiative, starting new projects, and stepping into leadership roles in your own life. It is also especially supportive of activities that involve the body and physical energy.
Mars in Ashwini.
During the first part of this transit, Mars moves through Ashwini nakshatra (May 11–28), a nakshatra known for its swiftness, connection to animals—especially horses—and its ability to bring rapid results. Ashwini is associated with renewal and the power to swiftly improve situations, much like the energy of a quick rescue. It is sometimes linked to hearing clearly—both literally and symbolically—suggesting a heightened sensitivity to what needs attention and action. Ashwini’s essence is deeply tied to healing therapies and restoring vitality. This makes it a great period for yoga, meditation, tai chi, qi gong, bodywork, walking, or hiking—anything that uses the body as a vehicle for healing and renewal. At this time, there is a natural increase in motivation, vitality, and the ability to take action on things that may have been delayed.
Predictions for Your Chart
In your own chart, the transit of Mars through Aries will give a variety of results, based on its unique placement. Here is a brief description of how the transit might affect you, based on the house Mars is transiting in your horoscope. Remember, we use a different zodiac in Vedic astrology, so you have to look at the birth date ranges for each of the Sun signs carefully. If you happen to know your Vedic Moon sign, Lagna (Ascendant) sign, or Arudha Lagna sign, then you can read the results for those signs as well. If you happen to know all of those signs, you could potentially read the predictions given for four signs. That may seem a bit unusual, but each of the descriptions reflects a different perspective on the Mars transit, and will tend to manifest in its own way. Remember, these results only apply to the period from May 11 through June 20, 2026.
Mars is moving through your first house. This period may motivate you to start something new or take the lead. It is a good time for exercise, physical therapy, yoga, or energy work—especially during the Ashwini transit (May 11–28). You might feel more physically energetic and inclined to make changes. Just try not to be too forceful, bossy, or arrogant.
Mars is transiting your twelfth house. You might seek out experiences in nature or a retreat setting. Travel might be on the agenda, possibly including physical activity like walking or hiking. These activities help get you out of your head and into a flow state—particularly during the Ashwini transit (May 11–28). At this time, you might also reflect more deeply on your relationships. This transit can also bring a tendency to spend a little extra money.
Mars passes through your eleventh house. This period supports completing projects and achieving goals. You might notice financial gains or increased connections with friends or groups. This transit is strong for teamwork and competitive environments. This is also a great time for alternative health activities, either done alone or in a group, like a yoga or Ayurvedic retreat—most noticeably during the Ashwini transit (May 11–28).
Mars moves through your tenth house. You might become busier, more active, and more ambitious in your work. You might notice that you are getting things done more quickly or experiencing more rapid progress—early in the transit, during Ashwini (May 11–28). This transit can bring greater assertiveness and independence, and you may take on a leadership role or even receive a promotion. On the other hand, authority figures might also become more assertive or demanding.
Mars transits your ninth house. You might travel or focus more on education and learning. This transit supports teaching, advising, and professional development. During the early phase of the transit, while Mars is in Ashwini (May 11–28), there might be an increased tendency to benefit from natural or traditional medicines or health professionals. That same period can also be good for gardening or landscaping. Finances may improve during this time.
Mars moves through your eighth house. Benefits may come through shared resources, partnerships, or clients. You might feel motivated to make changes and break free of limitations, but be mindful of becoming overly controlling. This transit can also increase interest in healing therapies or transformational practices—as Mars moves through Ashwini (May 11–28).
Mars passes through your seventh house. Relationships might become more dynamic. This transit supports financial gains through partnerships and one-to-one connections. If you are single, you might become more assertive and take initiative in meeting someone. At the same time, others may also be more assertive with you. This period is a good one for practicing patience and your listening skills with others. Talk less, listen more—especially during the Ashwini transit (May 11–28).
Scorpio (Nov 16 – Dec 15)
Mars transits your sixth house. Work might become busier and more demanding. You might feel motivated to exercise or compete in some way. This transit increases your chances of success in disputes or competitions. Just be mindful to avoid unnecessary conflicts. This transit promotes any type of natural or alternative healing modality, particularly during the Ashwini transit (May 11–28). If you have a pet or like animals, this part of the transit can also support those relationships.
Sagittarius (Dec 16 – Jan 13)
Mars moves through your fifth house. If you have children, they might become more active, assertive, or even a little bossy. You might feel drawn to physical activities like sports, hiking, or dance. This transit supports education, romance, and finances. For those pursuing spiritual practices, this is a strong time for fire rituals, mantras, and other disciplines—most noticeably during the Ashwini transit (May 11–28).
Capricorn (Jan 14 – Feb 12)
Mars transits your fourth house. This is a great transit for real estate, home improvement, or completing projects around your home. You might take charge more in domestic situations, so try not to be overly controlling. Early in the transit, during Ashwini (May 11–28), this is especially favorable for gardening or landscaping.
Aquarius (Feb 13 – Mar 13)

You might find yourself busy with errands, short trips, or a variety of tasks. During the early phase of the transit, while Mars is in Ashwini (May 11–28), there may be a tendency to rush or act impatiently, so this is a great time to slow down and practice your listening skills.
Mars transits your second house. This transit emphasizes money, communication, and interactions with family members. You may be attracted to hot or spicy foods during this time. You might also notice an increase in finances or feel more confident in your speech. At the same time, be mindful not to interrupt others or speak too forcefully. As Mars moves through Ashwini (May 11–28), it is a great time to listen more and talk less. This part of the transit supports the use of herbs, teas, or natural dietary supplements.
