On April 13th, Jupiter entered Pisces and began its one year transit of that sign. Jupiter rules Pisces so gains a lot of energy during this time. Since Jupiter is a planet of expansion, abundance, prosperity, knowledge and dharma, it is a good thing for Jupiter to be strong for a change.
I say, “for a change”, because Jupiter has not been particularly strong in the past couple of years. In April of 2020 Jupiter entered Capricorn, its sign of debilitation. You might remember that we were all feeling a pretty strong sense of restriction and confinement setting in at that time, due to the pandemic. Jupiter in Capricorn loves rules, so that kicked off the first phase of restrictions and rules connected with masks and sheltering in place. Jupiter flirted with Capricorn over the next year and a half, going in and out of that sign. When it was in Capricorn, the rules and regulations increased because of a preceding spike in Covid cases. When it went out of Capricorn, the rules were eased due to a falling number of cases.
Between November 20, 2021 and April 13th, 2022 Jupiter transited Aquarius. Jupiter’s on- again off-again relationship with Capricorn ended and most people experienced an increased sense of safety and comfort in groups.
Anyway, if you have been following this newsletter, you will know that I have been predicting the ups and downs of the pandemic, based on Jupiter’s transit, for the last few years. I have also been saying that when Jupiter finally goes into Pisces, it should signify another phase transition in the positive direction in the pandemic saga.
Specifically, I think that Jupiter in Pisces will signify an improvement with travel. Of course, lots of people are already traveling. However, this is still more true for domestic travel than for foreign travel. During the coming year (April of 2022 to April of 2023) we will probably find that international travel will become more accessible and less of a pain in the neck. More and more countries will open their doors to tourism and the rules and restrictions on travelers will probably lighten up.
On the personal level, Jupiter in Pisces will bring an expansive and beneficial influence for each of us. Isn’t Jupiter great? If you want to find an area of life where you might experience something positive, you can usually depend on Jupiter’s placement in the chart to give you a hint as to where you might find it. Even if you are going through a particularly difficult period in some way, Jupiter can sometimes bring improvement, healing or protection to the areas of life that it influences.
Here is a brief description of how the transit of Jupiter in Pisces might affect you, based on the house Jupiter is transiting in your horoscope. Remember, we use a different zodiac in Vedic astrology, so you have to look at the birth date ranges for each of the Sun signs carefully. If you happen to know your Vedic Moon sign, Lagna (Ascendant) or Arudha Lagna, then you can read the results for those signs as well. If you happen to know all of those signs, you could potentially read the predictions given for four signs. That may seem confusing, but each of the descriptions reflects a different angle on the transit of Jupiter and will tend to manifest in its own way.
