Lunar Eclipse in Punarvasu
In the newsletter I sent out on January 1st, I said: “On January 12th, Mercury will conjunct Saturn. This will be no ordinary conjunction, but will be joined by the Sun, and if you want to include an outer planet, Pluto, normally only used in Western astrology, then we will have 4 planets within a degree of each other, on that day. If you add Jupiter and Ketu to the mix, both in Sagittarius, then you have a whopping 6 planets weighing down one side of the celestial teeter totter.
On the level of mundane affairs, the period for about 6 days on either side of the conjunction could be a period that is prone to earthquakes, intense communications, and power struggles. It is a period that can produce saber rattling and muscle flexing by nations that want to demonstrate their power.”
Since that newsletter was sent out, we have had an Earthquake in Puerto Rico, and of course, the violent back and forth between the US and Iran. This is all part of a series of astrological events that started with the solar eclipse on December 26th, and is now being furthered by the big conjunction of planets in Sagittarius. Now again there will be a penumbral lunar eclipse on Friday, January 10th at 11:10 a.m. Pacific Time, in Punarvasu nakshatra. Punarvasu is symbolized by a quiver of arrows. This is an obvious symbol of storing weapons, so for the current situation with Iran, it is likely that there will continue to be further conflict.
On the positive side, Punarvasu, in Sanskrit, means good again, light again, or prosperous again. So for individuals who lead reflective lives, with the intention of constant improvement, this is a perfect time for making things better. The drama of nations states need not cause worry. There is only one conflict that each of us has to deal with, our own inner conflict. Eclipses are fantastic times to produce inner peace and to promote expanded awareness. If we constantly improve ourselves, and create peace within ourselves, the world will take care of itself.
Join me for my annual world predictions webinar on February 9th and 10th to see what is in store for this monumental year! Besides sharing my insights on the economy, the Middle East, Donald Trump, North Korea, and global environmental changes, I will discuss the likely course of the world in the next decade. Drawing from the charts of the United States, China, Russia, India, Iran, Israel, and many other countries of the world, I describe world-wide trends and events and show how these events fit into a greater pattern of global evolution.
